The Challenge
Tika came to us in April 2024 with a vision that didn't fit neatly into a box. Fort Sumpter wasn't just a lifestyle brand. It wasn't just an e-commerce company. It was a production company creating films and podcasts. A growing product line. A resource hub for modern motherhood. Media, product, and family all woven together.
The challenge was defining what this company actually is when it does so many things. We needed to find the through line that made it all feel cohesive, not scattered. The brand architecture had to be flexible enough to hold a kids' podcast and a skincare line and a production slate, while still feeling like one unified vision.
That's where we landed: Fort Sumpter exists to empower and inspire the whole family through education and storytelling. Everything flows from there.
What We Did
Brand Architecture & Strategy Before we touched visuals, we built the strategic foundation. We defined the brand positioning, the audience, and the architecture that would allow Fort Sumpter to expand into new verticals without losing coherence. Every product, podcast, and piece of content ladders up to the same mission.
Brand Identity We designed the full identity system: flexible enough to stretch across media and product, distinctive enough to stand out in both.
Adventures of Curiosity Cove (Podcast) We developed the brand identity for Fort Sumpter's kids' podcast and supported the marketing launch. The podcast hit number one on the kids' charts.
Yummy Tummy (Skincare Line) When Fort Sumpter moved into e-commerce, we led the product strategy and positioning for the Yummy Tummy skincare line. We designed the packaging, developed a 1-2-3 step product system, and built the Shopify website including all copy and blog content. We helped plan a two-day product shoot with the creative team.
Marketing Execution We didn't hand over files and disappear. We stayed on to execute: building out the marketing strategy, setting up the newsletter, creating campaigns, and running social media for the first six months of launch. That included flying to LA to shoot founder content with Tika directly.
Ongoing Partnership We've continued as brand partner across everything: pitch decks for production partnerships, graphic design, team creation, waitlist and email marketing setup for product launches, and creative direction as the brand evolves into new categories.
