Website

Website design and development

The website has been on your list for eleven months. It’s on the list because it’s enormous, and nobody has ever broken it down into parts you can actually do.

Service businesses get a site built in Framer. Product brands get a Shopify shop. Same process and the same care either way, on the platform that suits how you sell.

Nobody puts off their website because they don’t care. They put it off because it’s the one job that touches everything: the words, the photos, the offer you’ve been meaning to change, the testimonials you’ve been meaning to ask for. So it sits there while you get on with actual work.

A website project turns an open-ended job into a set of steps with homework attached. You write the content first, which is the part only you can do. I do everything else.

At the end it’s live. Not ready for review, not sitting on a staging link waiting for you to find a spare evening. Live, with your domain pointing at it.

The Process

The moment you book, you get a content guide and a prep board. The guide shows you what each page needs to say and roughly how long it should be, so you’re writing for the design rather than guessing. Your copy and images are due before the design starts, because a site designed around placeholder text never quite fits the real thing. Then we have a 45 minute call to agree the sitemap, the strategy and the direction.

Stage one

Before we start

I design the site in Figma first, page by page, using your brand and your real content. You see it before anything is built, so you can tell me what’s working and what isn’t while it’s still easy to change. Your revisions go in at this stage, and I build from the design we’ve agreed.

Stage two

Design

Then I build it, in Framer for service businesses or Shopify for product brands. You see the full site working, on your phone as well as your laptop, and you get your call on anything that changes the outcome. Revisions follow, and they get the time they need, because this is the thing your customers will judge you on first.

Stage three

The work

Stage three

The work

Your domain gets connected, every form gets tested, and the site goes live. You get training videos so you can update it yourself without breaking anything. Then I check in at 30, 60 and 90 days to see how it’s doing and help with anything that’s come up once real people started using it.

This is right for you if

You run a service business that needs a Framer site, or a product brand that needs a Shopify shop

You’ve got a brand identity already and it needs somewhere to live

The website has been on your list long enough that you’ve stopped mentioning it

You’re happy to write your own copy, with a guide to help

You want to be able to update it yourself afterwards without calling anyone

This isn’t the right fit if

You haven’t got a brand identity yet. There’s nothing for the site to be built from. Start with Brand Identity, or take both as Brand and Website

You want the copy written for you. On a standalone website project the copy is yours. I’ll send a guide that makes it much easier than it sounds, and I’ll sharpen what you send, but writing and designing five pages is two jobs, not one.

You need a big shop built. Product brands on Shopify are welcome, but a large catalogue or a custom checkout is a bespoke project

You need more than five pages. An extra page can be added at checkout. Beyond six it’s a bespoke project

Kind Words

It was as though you went into my brain and created it as me.

About me

Hi, I’m Emily.

Years ago a client of mine spent £20,000 on positioning and messaging with a big agency and they ended up barely using any of it, because nobody had shown them how to implement it. That gap, between what a studio hands over and what a founder can actually do with it, is the reason for how I help my clients.

I’ve been building brands for over five years across hospitality, skincare, coaching, fashion and food, with my clients having been featured in Forbes, Stylist, Grazia, The Times and Startups Magazine to name a few. I draw and I carve. Most of the marks that come out of here started as a lino cut on the kitchen table.

I’m a mum of two, building from Devon, but working with clients worldwide to help them fulfil their goals. I’ve learned what makes a brand actually work and now I want to use what I know to not only make your brand look great but make more impact and more money.

Questions

How does a project actually run?

What if my copy isn’t ready before we start?

I really can’t write the copy. Any options?

Why Framer or Shopify, and not Squarespace or WordPress?

What if I need more than five pages?

Can you migrate my existing site?

Will it be as good as a bigger website build?

Do you set up my email or hosting?

I sell products. Can I book this?

How far ahead do I book?

Moving your dates?

Still not sure

Tell me what you’re building and where it’s stuck. I’ll tell you honestly which service you actually need, even if the answer is none of them.
